FAQ on PGVCL

Why PGVCL is not issuing bills monthly?
1. Paschim Gujarat Vij Co. Ltd. Serves energy bill to the consumer on the spot at their premise. According to the provisions in GERC Supply Code Clause 2.3 (10), the consumers having contracted load >6 KW and 3 Phase consumers are being billed on monthly basis in Cycle-5 and the rest are being billed on bi-monthly basis in billing Cycle 1 / 2 / 3 4 as per geographical area.

Why my bill so high even my house / premise is locked?
If meter reading is not possible due to Locked premise, as per GERC Supply Code 6.21 provisional bills are being issued with average consumption of last 3 billing periods. The energy bills that onwards is calculated on minimum basis only.

Then after as & when consumer’ s premise is accessible the energy bill is issued as per actual unit consumption registered and the amount previously issued average based energy bill is being adjusted as “Provisional Bill Refund. In case of any query please contact your local sub division office.

Why my bill so high even my meter has no display or stopped?
The energy bill with F status means energy meter installed is not working properly for any reason. In such type of cases bill is calculated on average of last 3 billing periods or actual units recorded, whichever is higher.

I have made online payment today, but confirmation is not received.
Generally, it takes 2 working days from the date of payment for updating of the payment amount to consumer account.
It is requested to please wait till the time and contact your local PGVCL Sub Division in case of non-receipt of payment updating SMS.

By Mistake I have made excess payment, what should I do for refund?
In case of refund of excess energy bill payment, it is requested to please approach your local PGVCL Sub Division Office along with hard copy of request letter for refund containing full details like payment amount, date, transaction ref id etc. and supporting documents like, copy of Energy bill receipt, Bank / wallet Statement
