Silkalay was conceptualized way back in 1976 and was a modest beginning in Jorhat ( a town in upper Assam, India). At that time very few non-Assamese business concerns showed interest in doing business in Assam silk. However the management of Silkalay had the determination to carve out a niche in this line of business and eventually it did. Now retail stores in G.S. Road and Pan Bazar, Guwahati and Dibrugarh have been serving our local customers for more than a decade.
