About us

Adyar Ananda Bhavan (also known as A2B) is a chain of confectioners headquartered in Adyar, Chennai, India. It is the oldest such chain in Chennai and has 100 outlets across India. Over the years, its range of products has expanded to include a wide variety of confectionery, snacks and chaat.

A2B was founded by Late Thiru. K.S. Thirupathi Raja founder of Guru Sweets in Rajapalayam, Srinivasa Sweets in Bangalore and Sri Ananda Bhavan in Wannarapettai, Chennai. This was followed by the opening of a branch in Adyar which prompted the company to add Adyar to the name Ananda Bhavan which is now called Adyar Ananda Bhavan.

Adyar Ananda Bhavan, now operates with 125 branches spread all over India, majorly in South India. Adyar Ananda Bhavan is now managed & run by Thiru. K.T. Venkatesan & Thiru. K.T. Srinivasa raja, sons of Founder, Late Thiru. K.S. Thirupathi Raja.

  1. We want to bring to your attention the pathetic service at A2b at Velachery, Salyut, East Tambaram bear Max Showroom.
    This evening 04 Feb 2023 at 1900 hrs we went to the sweetmeat and savoury area. We placed an order for 2 Coffee and Dahi SavPuru. We gave the cashier Rs500 , he refused to take the note saying there was no change and demanded for card.
    We called for the supervisor and he was even more pathetic and unfit for that position. He said he had only Rs100 with him and no change.
    This so ridiculous that being peak time and the whole day sales, he said there was no change.
    No respect for customers especially for Senior Citizens and ladies. one wonders with this attitude of those workers what would become of A2B especially with competitors out there.
    I for one will pass on the word and would never wish good luck and blessings for A2B.
    One incident of Covid hasn’t taught us a lesson.

  2. I’m Gopikrishnan aged 65 yrs. I’m a regular customer for the pàst two yrs in the A2b at Porur opp Saravana super Store. Your products are absolutely of high quality.
    But the service in this outlet requires to be tuned. I cannot sleep without your coffee. But it is highly regretable every day I wait at this counter for about ten to fifteen minutes. This is bcoz of shortage of staff. Then since I’m aged I take mostly curd rice. For this your hotel gives pickle. Today when I asked to give them some porial since I’m not supposed to eat pickle, the supervisor who there refused. Usually I make a requst n the staff oblige. This Supervisor with thilak in his forehead is very discourteous. Six months back he after seeing me at the coffee counter for about for fifteen minutes was chitchating with the staff at the end of the coffee counter when I asked him he said he was discussing about the hotelproblem.
    Kindly advice them to provide porial instead of pickle to curd rice if anybody requests.

  3. I had been to your Bangalore KAMMANAHALLI and purchased meals item including Paratha with kurma vide Bill no. CR20109/22829 dt. 23 July 2020 time 2:08 pm. Billed by Kumar P S. The phone no. given in the bill 41157199 is an in operative number.

    I regret to inform you that the Kurma was full of oil and my son who ate it got vomited severely and had doctor’s treatment. The hotel serving counter was unhygienic. The tray was open without covering and heater for tray was not working. The vada served for South Indian meals was not fresh. Almost all the item served in the counter, except live kitchen items, were almost stale. Nobody in the hotel was wearing masks. I went to hotel driving for about 10 Kms. relying on your quality.

    I am regular visitor to your hotel and at none of your unit I had any problem irrespective of the location I just want to know that whether the particular unit could not maintain the hygienic. If you confirm I will keep away to the unit and will also advise my near and dear not to step in there.

    Expecting a feedback from your end of the non standard quality maintenance of the particular unit.
